This book has been published from the author’s PhD thesis dissertation that was defended in 2015 in Fatih University. In this book you will find a detailed research about the image of the undesired citizens in Turkish print media (Hürriyet and Zaman newspapers) within the framework of critical discourse analysis. This book provides quite an original research with its methodology and rich bibliographical content. After the failed coup attempt that broke out in Turkey in July 2016, Fatih University and Zaman newspaper were shut down along with several other institutions that had been affiliated with Fethullah Gülen. Defining Gülenists as “members of a movement” rather than “members of a terror unit” is something totally at odds with official state discourse in Turkey today. So, the content and language of this book might be seen as “unfavorable” by some of the readers. Despite this, in this book, there are no changes made in the original content of the study.
